Product Designer
Nico is a UX and strategic designer who has worked freelance since 2016 for clients across fintech, health care, and e-commerce. His work usually starts the same way this course does: talking to real people, finding out what actually frustrates them, and turning that into products worth building. Depending on the project, that means conducting user interviews, mapping user journeys, synthesizing research into strategy, or designing the screens themselves. He holds a B.A. in Interaction Design and an M.A. in Strategic Design from HfG Schwäbisch Gmünd, and a B.A. in Philosophy from Humboldt University Berlin. Everything in this course is a method he uses in his real work, just made small enough to try yourself.

Product Designer
Mark is a designer focused on human-centered AI, critical AI literacy, and building accountability into algorithmic systems. What interests him is how design shapes the relationship between people and AI, and what that means in practice: making responsibility, transparency, and human control something you can actually experience in a product, not just demand on paper. He holds a B.A. in Interaction Design and an M.A. in Strategic Design from HfG Schwäbisch Gmünd. He then worked as an Associate Design Director at McKinsey & Company, designing AI-driven products and ventures in regulated industries like life sciences and MedTech, often translating between data science, engineering, and end users. Since 2026 he teaches at HfG Schwäbisch Gmünd as a visiting professor for AI + Design and is part of the AI+D Lab, which takes a critical, experimental look at how AI is used in design practice.
