Introduction to Building with AI

About this course

Until recently, building something on the internet usually meant knowing how to code, finding someone who did, or spending months learning.

In the post-AI world, that has changed dramatically.

This course is an introduction to what it now means to build with AI.

You will learn how to take an idea out of your head, explain it clearly, turn it into something real and keep improving it when the first version is not good enough.

You will use tools like Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini as collaborators, not just places to ask questions.

By the end, you will have built several small projects and brought them together into your own portfolio website, live on the internet and ready to share.

You do not need any coding experience. In fact, you will not need to write code yourself at all. All you need is the internet, access to an AI tool of your choice (we recommend Claude!), a few hours, and an appetite to build.

What you'll do

Understand the basic ideas, tools and language behind building with AI

Learn how to turn a rough idea into instructions an AI can actually work with

Use AI as a thought partner, not just accept its first answer

Give AI better context so the result feels closer to what you actually intended

Build small projects and improve them through testing, feedback and iteration

Develop your own visual taste by studying things you like and turning them into a style guide

Learn how to recognise generic AI output and push beyond it

Build and publish a portfolio website that brings your work together

What you'll leave with

A live portfolio website with a link you can share

Several small projects you built yourself with AI

Your own style guide, based on things you genuinely like

A clearer understanding of how to communicate ideas to AI and direct the output

Experience fixing things when they do not work the first time

Most importantly, you will leave with the confidence to go from “I have an idea” to “I built this" and the option to publish your work to the world with our "My Mosaic" feature.

Who is this for

People who are curious about AI, but do not want to stop at using it for answers, summaries or homework.

You might want to be a creator, entrepreneur, designer, or... you simply have ideas you have never known how to build, but are now eager to.

No technical background or coding experience are needed.

If you can describe what you want, make decisions about what you like, and keep going when the first attempt is imperfect, you are ready.
