Make Things Move

About this course

Not long ago, a few seconds of animation took a team of people and weeks of work. Today you can make it yourself in an evening with AI.

Make Things Move shows you how.

An image model can draw a scene from a few sentences, and a video model can make that picture move. A coding agent is an AI that writes and runs code on your computer. It can build a 3D scene in your browser or cut your phone footage into a short video.

We start with real examples of each kind, and you get the prompts we used.

The tools change every few weeks, so a lot of what we show you will be out of date soon. We turn what's working right now into a few rules of thumb for picking ideas that work well with AI, and you can test them with one prompt on each new model.

It takes about two hours, and you make a video of your own along the way. By the end you'll be able to make cool videos pretty quickly with these tools.

Let's make things move!

What you'll do

What you can make

We show the three kinds of AI video with real examples, and how one account on fal gets you almost every model.

Make your own

You make a picture in ChatGPT and turn it into video with Seedance. Then a coding agent makes motion graphics and 3D scenes from code and cuts your clips together. You finish with one short video of your own.

Credits

The people whose work we learned from, so you know who to follow next, and a few free tools to try.

What you'll leave with

A short video you made yourself, easy to share with a link.

A few rules of thumb for picking ideas that work well with AI.

Prompts you can reuse for Seedance and for a coding agent.

A good guess at how an AI video you see online was made.

Who is this for

It's for anyone who likes making things, mostly teens and young adults. You don't need any experience.

You'll need a computer and $5 to $10 of credit on fal.

It runs models from lots of different companies, so you only need one account. A grown-up may need to set it up.

For the projects where the AI writes code, you'll also need a coding agent like Claude Code or Codex. OpenCode is a cheaper option. The newest models are the best at this, and cheaper ones work too. Their results look a little less polished.
